ONE DROP was proud to act as a consultant on the creation of an awe-inspiring experience taking place at Montreal’s Place des festivals where Canada’s largest outdoor fountain can be found. Elixir is the magical tale of an encounter between a pixel and a drop of water. This fabulous outdoor expression of water, sound and light is presented Wednesdays to Saturdays, three times each night (8 p.m., 9 p.m., 10 p.m.), from September 8 to October 9, 2010.
At times calm and sensual, then energetic and stunning, Elixir is an ode to life during which spectators watch how pixel and water meet, come together, confront one another and find each other once again. The event’s creator, Moment Factory, designed the show so that viewers all over Place des festivals can experience it from virtually anywhere. Depending on their vantage point, spectators can catch a glimpse of visual treasures hidden amidst the architectural lighting, watch video projections on water, or view synchronized fountains, sound, light and video. For this reason, people are encouraged to see Elixir again and again from different viewpoints.
Elixir recognizes water as a source of life, revealing this resource’s true beauty, and is a perfect example of ONE DROP’s belief that the arts and culture can change how the world sees and uses water, as well as our intimate relationship with it.
