Governance
In addition to the expertise of its Board of Directors, the ONE DROP Foundation benefits from the assistance of a Scientific Committee, a Financial Ethics and Gouvernance Committee and a Philanthropic Development Committee. These bodies assist the Foundation with its strategic directions and project implementation.
The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is made up of seven members who are recognized for their extensive experience in managing non-profit organizations, their social engagement or their expertise in areas relevant to the Foundation's mission.
The Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring adherence to the Foundation's goals, providing strategic directions and approving annual plans and budgets. It is also responsible for assessing, on an annual basis, the outcome of the Foundation's activities and approving its audited financial statements. Finally, the Board of Directors is responsible for approving the appointment of committee members.
The Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee assists the Board of Directors and is made up of five members from some of the world's leading universities and public institutions. The members of the Scientific Committee contribute their expertise in water-related issues as well as in knowledge awareness and knowledge transfer.

Stephen C. McCaffrey, Professor, University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and Special Rapporteur of the International Law Commission on the Law on the non-navigational uses of international watercourses 1985-1991

Gordon Young, Emeritus professor, Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo (CANADA) and former co-ordinator of the World Water Assessment Programme, the Secretariat of which is housed within the Division of Water Sciences, UNESCO.
THE FINANCIAL ETHICS AND GOUVERNANCE COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Financial Ethics and Governance Committee is to assist the Board of Directors in the fulfillment of its financial ethics and governance responsibilities, specifically with respect to the acceptance of contributions from individuals, businesses and foundations, the use of those contributions, the framework within which investments are made, the quality of the financial information provided, as well as those responsibilities pertaining to the code of ethics and conflicts of interest. In addition to its principle mandate, the Committee also fulfills two other complementary mandates, which are investment management and overseeing the financial information disclosure process.

The Philanthropic Development Committee
The Philanthropic Development Committee's mandate is to identify individuals, companies and other foundations likely to provide financial support for the Foundation's projects. The members of the committee will be announced at the beginning of 2008.
