ONE DROP™ Canada is overseen by its Board of Directors and supported by several committees.
Board of Directors
ONE DROP’s Board of Directors is comprised of seven appointed members, all of whom are recognized for their extensive experience in managing non-profit organizations or for their expertise in areas relevant to the organization's mission.
Guy Laliberté, Chairperson
ONE DROP is Guy’s dream. As founder of Cirque du Soleil, Guy knows how to blend culture, creativity and artistic disciplines. With award-winning experience as head of an organization active on five continents, he is well qualified to be the driving force behind this organization.
France Chrétien Desmarais, Vice-Chairperson
Having served on or chaired many boards in the fields of business, health and sports, France has a deep understanding of how they work. Among the several directorships she has held, she currently serves as President of the Canadian Olympic Foundation.
Clément Guimond, Secretary
As General Coordinator of the Caisse d'économie solidaire Desjardins (1986–2007), Clément managed the financial institution's development activities and finances, while providing support for its various democratic bodies.
Claudia Barilà
Claudia has extensive experience of the fashion industry in France, Germany, England and the United States. In partnership with her sister, she also created Barilà, a fashion design company specialized in women’s clothing.
Claude Laverdure
A public servant since 1965, Claude’s impressive career has taken him around the world as Canada’s ambassador to Haiti, Zaire and Belgium. In Ottawa, he served as Assistant Deputy Minister for regions overseeing Africa, the Middle East and Europe. He also served as Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister (Privy Council).
Robert Blain, Treasurer
A chartered accountant, Robert is Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Cirque du Soleil. As such, he is responsible for the organization's financial, taxation, accounting and treasury operations, as well as insurance and legal services.
Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee is comprised of five members from some of the world's leading universities and public institutions. The Committee shares its expertise with the Board of Directors on water-related issues and knowledge transfer.

Pedro Arrojo, economics professor, University of Saragossa; President of Spain's New Water Culture Foundation
Stephen C. McCaffrey, professor, University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento (California); Special Rapporteur of the International Law Commission on the Law on the Non-Navigational Uses of International Watercourses (1985–1991)
Gordon Young, professor emeritus, Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo (Canada); former coordinator of the World Water Assessment Programme, the secretariat of which is housed within the Division of Water Sciences, UNESCO.
Financial Ethics and Governance Committee
The Financial Ethics and Governance Committee helps the Board of Directors ensure ONE DROP’s financial ethics and governance responsibilities are fulfilled, including those related to acceptance of contributions, accuracy of financial data, investment management, adherence to the code of ethics and conflict of interest prevention.

Philanthropic Development Committee
The Philanthropic Development Committee's mandate is to assist the Board of Directors, to which it reports to, in preparing policies, setting objectives and developing fundraising activities.

Program Committees
ONE DROP enjoys the invaluable support of several people recognized for their considerable expertise and experience. These experts make up advisory committees, including the International Cooperation and Development Program Management Committee, the Awareness and Social Mobilization Program Management Committee and the Philanthropic Development Committee. Their aim is to support the members of the management teams in their duties.
International Cooperation and Development Program Management Committee
The mandate of this committee is to ensure the consistency of strategic approaches and the effectiveness of execution, as well as the sustainability and leverage of actions undertaken by ONE DROP in developing countries. The committee enjoys a high level of trust among members of the Board of Directors to which it reports.

Awareness and Social Mobilization Program Management Committee
The mandate of the management committee is to guide the management team of the Awareness and Social Mobilization Programs in terms of strategic direction and approaches. It also assists the team in defining project content. The management committee reports to the Board of Directors.
