ONE DROP TAKES ACTION

Raising people’s and communities’ awareness about water issues requires action!

For ONE DROP, it means setting up projects aimed at providing access to drinking water and water for productive activities through simple and appropriate technology. It means encouraging the development of income-generating activities by providing access to solidarity finance. It means educating and mobilizing people through art and culture.

BURKINA FASO

Scheduled for the spring of 2013, the launch of Project Burkina Faso will allow the Cascades and Hauts-Basins communities to enjoy new access to clean water, and to stimulate the implementation of income-generating activities in the region.

EL SALVADOR

Project El Salvador was developed to provide access to water in rural underprivileged communities of the Francisco Morazán department and promote sound water management principles.

HAITI

The objective of Project Haiti is to help reconstruct and rehabilitate certain areas around Port-au-Prince that were devastated during the powerful earthquake of last January 12.

HONDURAS

By providing access to water, Project Honduras helps bring about prosperity to the rural communities located in the zone delimited by the subwatershed of the Guacirope River.

INDIA

The majority of India’s population subsist without access to safe drinking water. For this reason, ONE DROP is happy to announce that a region within this country will be the next region to take part in one of its water-access projects.

NICARAGUA

Working with people living in rural parts of the Estelí region in Nicaragua, ONE DROP is helping to consolidate experience and build on existing initiatives. Communities have seen a significant improvement in their living conditions thanks to the supply of water.

Dive into AQUA—a multisensory experience for the entire family. Over the course of a journey divided into three distinct spaces, you will discover water in all its forms and understand that this resource is an essential part of our lives.

GAIA—a ONE DROP project curated by Guy Laliberté— bears witness to the miracle of water and its essential relationship with our fragile planet. Through the lens of a camera always at hand, Guy Laliberté witnessed the beauty of continents that seemed to float in water. He took thousands of pictures, both to remember and to share his odyssey.

Poetic Social Mission

Relive Guy Laliberté’s ground-breaking, ground-leaving adventure during which he orchestrated Moving Stars and Earth for Water, a unique global event bringing together several personalities in order to raise each and every one’s awareness of water-related issues.

ONE DROP harnesses the creativity of artists and communities to underline the importance of water and of preserving it. In this mind set, water-themed murals are created in urban settings.

World Water Day- Journée mondiale de l'eau

Every year, on March 22, the United Nations invites all the world's citizens to celebrate water. ONE DROP will of course be celebrating—while acting on many fronts and in many parts of the world to promote the cause of universal access to water.
