WHY REACH OUT TO INDIA?

• Orissa is amongst the poorest states in India, with a population of over 41 million and a literacy rate below the national average.
• Close to 40% of the population does not have access to safe drinking water, and only 7% of rural households have access to adequate sanitation facilities.
• In addition to the lack of functional infrastructure, the complexity of sociocultural life constitutes a stumbling block to universal access to safe water.
