Singing for Behaviour Change in Health Care Facilities

A singing contest “An'n chante pou lijyèn” (let’s sing for hygiene) in Haiti

This singing competition among health care providers at ten facilities was implemented by the Prisma 2 Project team, using the unique Social Art for Behaviour Change (SABC) approach of the One Drop Foundation. The objective was to mobilize health care providers in artistic-educational workshops on the importance of handwashing with soap and water at key moments (e.g., before and after a patient's auscultation). Ten songs were created by 86 providers (53 women and 33 men) and three songs were selected to be broadcast in December 2021 through health care facility waiting rooms, traditional media and social media.
