Improving Access to Sustainable Water and Sanitation Services in Rural and Small Urban Communities in Paraguay

This project aims to improve access to sustainable water and sanitation services in rural communities and small urban centers across several departments in Paraguay. It focuses on strengthening community water systems, promoting key behaviours such as tariff payment and household connections, and reducing barriers to sanitation access through improved infrastructure, local service management, and financial solutions.

Key strategies
In 9 rural communities across the departments of Concepción, Guairá, Paraguarí, and San Pedro, efforts will focus on improving community water systems, promoting tariff payment, and strengthening the sanitation boards to ensure the quality and accessibility of sater, sanitation, and hygiene services and products.
In 5 small cities within the departments of Caaguazú, Concepción, Paraguarí, and San Pedro, the project will support access to sewer networks and wastewater treatment plants, promote household connections, and improve access to financial products and services to reduce barriers to connection and ensure the proper operation and maintenance of the systems.
